Artemisia + The Matchsellers + Ask Your Folks

8PM - TUESDAY, JANUARY 19TH  |  Artemisia returns to Uncommon Ground on Clark arm-in-arm with some great musical company! Experience fun-loving, infectious bluegrass duo, The Matchsellers, and Chicago's own American Songbook re-animators, Ask Your Folks (trio of guitar, fiddle, and bass) in an evening you don't want to miss.

World Premiere of Hong's "O Nata Lux"

On January 10th, 2015, Artemisia will premiere Sungji Hong's "O Nata Lux" in combination with the liturgical premiere of "Missa Lumen de lumine."

 

Missa Lumen de lumine has been described as “a work of iridescent freshness” (BBC Music Magazine), “the sound is utterly luminous” (Fanfare Magazine), “a virtuoso exploration of the technical and sonorous possibilities” (Daily Telegraph).

 

This performance is FREE and open to the public.

Suit and Tie Show Empowers Women, "Raises the Bar" for Chamber Ensembles

Artemisia's recent production - "Suit and Tie" - served up a rich platter of gender-bending, globally-saturated sounds in a compelling and inspiring program of male music presented through a female perspective.

 

This show will soon re-take the stage in some fresh new venues. Stay tuned for more!

Cactus + Salonathon

At a second appearance at Chicago's own Salonathon - home for underground, emerging, and genre-defying art - Artemisia entertained the audience with an arrangement of the Comedian Harmonist's tongue-in-cheek piece, "Mein kleiner grüner Kaktus." (Translation: My little green cactus.)
